Purpose of Position:

Development and management of relationships with existing SCE industrial, governmental and institutional customers not serviced through our NAM program to ensure their choice of Edison Source to meet their energy needs in the deregulated marketplace. This customer base will consist of the following market segments:

  • State, county and local government
  • Private and public education
  • Manufacturing and textiles
  • Food processing, agriculture, wood and paper
  • Chemicals, petroleum, plastics, stone and glass, and metals
  • Federal government and water agencies

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, build and manage customer relationships at the executive level
  • Develop thorough understanding of each customer’s business systems, processes and energy problems
  • Maintain relationship with customers’ executive management staff to influence energy procurement, management and acquisition policy
  • Identify and promote business opportunities in integrated energy solutions, products and services
  • Write proposals and present them to decision-making levels. Close business.
  • •Lead a project team of company staff, vendors and engineers

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Minimum three to five years experience in energy account management with emphasis on customer retention and relationship building
  • A proven track record with and network of contacts in industrial, governmental, and institutional sectors
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated history of developing client base and closing transactions
  • Experience presenting to the highest levels of management
  • Ability to identify and solve customer needs and capitalize on market opportunities
  • Outstanding business judgment; ability to lead a team toward accomplishment of business objectives
  • Demonstrated competitiveness, results-orientation, innovation and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of financial/economic analysis, pricing and sales

Desired Experience:

  • Energy or energy related industry experience or experience in customer retention selling in a de-regulating industry
  • Experience in targeted market segment (i.e., state and local government, education, manufacturing, etc.)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing or other business discipline
  • MBA in Finance, Economics or Marketing preferred
